On June 19th 2010 the University of Nevada School of Medicine will graduate it’s 10th class of pediatricians, myself included. While this is a momentous occasion for the school and Las Vegas as a city, we are nonetheless faced with problems affecting many schools, businesses and people countrywide.
This year the School of Medicine completely cut out any funding for a graduation ceremony. They went so far as to requisition money put aside by last year’s class for our graduation for other expenses.
To counter this we are looking for donations. We work 80 hour weeks and receive only trainees’ wages so we cannot fund the graduation ourselves.
I, myself, do MMA and enjoy all aspects of it and so I am putting together a “Martial Arts” gift package to raffle. This being Las Vegas and probably the biggest center of MMA/UFC I was hoping you could provide something to help out.
